The Board of Trustees held a special meeting to review and approve a consent agenda item regarding the purchase of permanent bleachers for Coeur d'Alene High School, Lake City High School, and Canfield Middle School. The procurement, totaling $794,110.68 after a 1% discount, utilizes a KCDA contract. The purchase addresses safety and accessibility concerns, specifically replacing aging bleachers and those damaged by natural disasters, with funding sourced from insurance, FEMA reimbursements, and state school modernization funds.
The Board meetings covered various district governance and operational topics. Key discussions included student and staff recognitions, a finance report regarding attendance-based funding, and the approval of personnel actions, budget revisions, and district expenditures. Several policy revisions and adoptions were addressed, including those related to elections, strategic planning, school calendars, and personal electronic devices. The Board also managed capital assets, including the sale of the Locust property and the transfer of portable classrooms to another district, along with updates on committee representative appointments and participation in youth well-being initiatives. Legal and financial matters, including contract negotiations, insurance payments, and pending litigation, were reviewed during executive sessions.
