The project will consist of upgrades to the 4 story, 35,000 sf building to support the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. The updated facility will feature classrooms, offices, a dental hygiene clinic, and a new, larger elevator serving all floors. Architectural updates focus on interior finishes—such as new metal stud framing, drywall, flooring, casework, and paint—alongside localized roof repairs and exterior site work, including stair restoration and an accessible ramp option. All major building systems are being fully upgraded to modern standards. Key mechanical, plumbing, and electrical overhauls include a full wet-pipe fire protection system, all-new plumbing infrastructure to support the dental lab and restrooms, and a variable air volume (VAV) HVAC system powered by basement boilers and roof chillers. Additionally, the electrical and special systems will receive a full power distribution overhaul, energy-efficient LED lighting with automated controls, an updated fire alarm system, and new telecom cabling connected to the existing infrastructure. There is an alternate in the project to provide new concrete stairs, new concrete ramp, retaining wall and landscaping.
