About this conference
The ACRL Information Literacy Immersion Program is an intensive three-day event providing participants with an immersive learning experience focused on teaching and learning in libraries. Held at Loyola University in Chicago, IL, from July 15-17, 2026, the program challenges attendees to examine the educational role of librarians in higher education, reflect on information literacy concepts, and question assumptions about teaching to develop critically informed instructional practices. It also addresses theories of influence, change, and leadership to foster inclusive workplaces and communities within higher education. The program aims to provide a conceptual and theoretical grounding for professional development, enabling participants to appraise their context, develop instructional practices, analyze institutional dynamics, and re-establish their professional identity.
